The United Skim Tour (UST) has announced an update to the 2026 tour schedule. The Men’s and Women’s divisions will now each consist of five events, with each rider’s top four finishes counting toward the final rankings. The adjustment follows travel advisories that led the UST to unsanction the planned event in Melaque, Mexico.
While the Melaque event has been removed from the tour, Cabo San Lucas remains at a low travel advisory level and is confirmed to remain on the 2026 schedule. El Rey de Lovers in Cabo will serve as the opening event of the season in April.
The UST Board carefully deliberated several possible options before arriving at this decision. The organization considered adding a replacement event to maintain the originally planned number of stops but ultimately decided against it in order to respect athletes’ established summer schedules outside of competition. Many riders plan travel, work, and personal commitments around the tour calendar months in advance.
Maintaining a format where the top four results determine the final standings also helps encourage the world’s best skimboarders to meet head-to-head throughout the season, ensuring strong competition at each tour stop while still allowing riders some flexibility if they are unable to attend one event.
