Bryan Lopez, a local from Melaque, took first place in the professional men’s division, and Chabe White of Mazunte, Mexico took the win in the professional women’s division. Yahir Valencia of Barra de Navidad won the professional men’s division and Casey Kiernan of Stuart, FL won the professional women’s division. The professional men’s division counted as part of the United Skim Tour, the world’s only international professional skimboarding tour. The 2022 United Skim Tour event schedule features six stops for the men and three stops for the women. The TAC Skimblast is back on tour after a two year hiatus, kicking off the tour in Santa Cruz, California. Then there are two east coast stops, first the OBX Skim Jam in North Carolina, followed by the Zap Championships in Dewey Beach, Delaware. After that the tour returns to the west coast for the Vic West in the mecca of skimboarding, Laguna Beach, California.
