Blair Conklin & Casey Kiernan Win in Pumping Newport Beach

Day One In the run up to the 2019 Exile Oktoberfest in Newport Beach, the wave forecast seemed to be uncertain. At first a hurricane swell was forecast to hit during the contest, but that fizzled out, and later a long-period swell looked to fill in on Sunday on the swell charts, but forecasters predicted it might show up early on Saturday. Fink Wins his 4th Contest of 2019 & Nguyen Wins her 2nd in Florida

The Florida Pro/Am brought out a field of 12 professional men and 3 professional women to Vilano Beach this past weekend. As stop five for the men’s division and stop three for the women’s division, this event acted as a pivotal contest in both title races with valuable points on the line for the men and women. Conditions were very challenging throughout the weekend. The slope at Vilano was unseasonably flat and an incoming storm brought some strong northeast winds for most of the weekend, making it especially difficult to perform. Brazilain Skimboarder Lucas Fink Clinches His First UST Championship Title

After winning the Florida Pro/Am this weekend in Vilano Beach, professional skimboarder Lucas Fink has clinched the 2019 United Skim Tour championship title in the professional men’s division. This is the first championship title for Lucas, and as an international rider from Rio De Jainero, Brazil, Lucas is the first non-American skimboarder to win the United Skim Tour.  Lucas’s win at Vilano Beach was his fourth victory this year after taking first in the Outer Banks, NC, first in Dewey Beach, DE, and first in Laguna Beach, CA. The 43rd Annual Victoria Skimboard Championships kicked off on Saturday, August 17th with a healthy mix of 34 professional skimboarders in the pro men division from all around the globe. The field included riders from California, the East Coast of the US, Hawaii, Mexico, and Brazil. Sophia Nguyen Grabs 1st In Delaware & Lucas Fink Extends His Points Lead

Home to some of the best skimboarding beaches on the east coast of the USA, Dewey Beach delivered solid conditions during day one and two of the 2019 Zap World Championships of Skimboarding. The contest started on Friday morning when the third stop of the Men’s United Skim Tour was greeted with solid 2-3 foot barreling waves and clean conditions. Blair Conklin & Amber Torreabla Win In Santa Cruz

The competitors were greeted with clear skies and clean conditions at the 2019 TAC Skimblast in Santa Cruz. For the pro women, local favorite Jackie Gollbach went up against Amber Torrealba and Sam Victor. Jackie was able to throw a lot of spray and lay down some big hacks, but Amber brought some tech game that proved enough to give her the win. In a last minute change the world famous Vic contest is back on the Men’s 2019 Tour. 4 of 6 total events will count for this year’s male competitors. The Home Stretch!

After a win in Florida Lucas Fink has closed the gap on points leader Blair Conklin.  Conklin locked in a first place finish in Laguna Beach but  Lucas was right on his tail in second and managed to keep the point differential relatively small.  Conklin was a no show in Vilano and Lucas made the most of it by winning the contest and some much needed points to compete for the title! Mid Tour Roundup

Things are only getting better for Blair Conklin who started the season with a 3rd place finish in Santa Cruz, followed it up with a second place result in Outer Banks and then last weekend took the win in Dewey.  With Four contests counting this season Blair is starting to look like he will be tough to catch if he racks up a strong finish at the Vic this weekend.  Sam McCoy took second in Delaware boosting him into the top 10 while John Weber racked up another third place result landing him in 3rd place on the tour.  The
